Restaurant Seven Fifty, which titles itself "A Taste of the Mediterranean', is located in the lobby of the newly established San Francisco Hilton Hotel. The decor of the lobby blends seamlessly into the style of the restaurant, which is based heavily on a modern, bordering trendy, look and feel. There is a strong emphasis on nature, with wood, stone, water, and fire elements all contributing to the setting. The front of the restaurant catches the eye of hotel dwellers with an open burning flame coming from a bed of rocks.
The restaurant is open for both lunch and dinner, making it a convenient place to dine during most hours. Two separate dining rooms, one with tall red chairs and booths, and the other with more traditional tables and chairs, make up the restaurant. There is also a bar in the back, making for a convenient place in the hotel to have a drink. The clientele of the hotel is mostly business people; some who choose to extend their weekday stay into the weekend for a little relaxation. During my dining experience, most of the talk from adjacent tables was a mix of business and casual conversation.

Oversized red chairs provide eye candy
The lunch starters and entrees are neatly presented on a one-sided menu, which for me, makes the process of meal selection much more straightforward! Starters such as a daily soup, grilled chicken quesadillas, or even a trio of dips, allow for a variety of selections. In terms of entrees, salad and sandwich choices are the way to go.
I split the seafood entree salad with a fellow diner, which had a delicious louis dressing. The seafood also tasted very fresh. For a main entree, I opted for the turkey club croissant, as I am a sucker for avocado, which it included. The sandwich was tasty and came with surprisingly good French fries, topped with parmesan cheese.
Those looking for something different can also choose from a classic personal pizza or a certified angus burger.

The right side of the restaurant has a more traditional look
While I was unable to stay for dinner, the items on Seven Fifty's dinner menu appear rather delectable. Entrees ramp up from sandwiches to pan roasted pacific salmon, lamb shank, and seared tenderloin of beef, to name a few. An added bonus is that the Hilton Hotel, which the restaurant is located in, sits right next to North Beach, which is a great part of town in terms of nightlife. A dinner at Seven Fifty, followed by good conversation over a few drinks may be just the ticket for an exceptional night in San Francisco.
